Exactly nine days following my last day of eleventh grade I began my
journey to Kenya, Africa. The date was June 21, 1996 as I and seventeen others
boarded a 747, in JFK, headed for Gatwick Airport in London. From there we
boarded another plane which took us to Nairobi, Kenya's capitol. Our stay in
Africa lasted approximately ten days. During those ten days I experienced an
untamed land. Animals roamed and ruled Africa's terrain. Tsavo East (picture

At the dawn of each day I witnessed the beauty of Africa's nature. I told
myself that it could not get any better but with every minute that passed I was
proved incorrect. Masai Mara Park - Masai Mara tribe (We were invited into
their village / View from outside my room at the Mara Sopa Lodge.

My trip to Africa will remain vivid in my mind forever. However, there are a
few things that stand out above anything else. If I close my eyes I can still
remember traveling across a dried up lake with the majestic Mount Kilamanjaro
looming up before us and the sun setting behind us.
I will never forget standing on the shore of Aruba lake, in Tsavo East,
One other thing that will always remain engraved in my memory is how diverse
our Earth is. Africa is a land of unique cultures, landscape and people. My
stay in Africa was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget.
Unfortunately as hard as I try to describe this rare land my adjectives do not
do it justice. I included some pictures of my trip so you could get a glimpse
of Africa through my eyes. If you are interested in learning more about my
journey please feel free to call me. It is something I never get tired of
talking about. Mombasa Eastern coast of Africa - Indian Ocean
Masai Mara Park - We were very lucky to see the leopard; they are very private animals
Mombasa - My fried jessie and I enjoy a beautiful day in the
indian ocean.
